Research Optical Bench Research Optical Bench – Physics Equipment Research Optical Bench is used at research level. Consisting of heavy cast iron bed with strong central rib, thoroughly seasoned and aged before machining , total length 170 cm fitted with stainless steel scale divided in mm. Four carriage are provided to carry the standard experiment accessories .The bed is a heavy cast channel with a strong central rib, thoroughly seasoned and aged before machining and grinding of its upper surface. The dimensions of the bed are approximately 180 cm x 12 cm x 16 cm. In size provided with heavy leveling screws. The scale is 170 cm. Long . With Following Accessories :- (a) Micrometer eye piece :– An ocular micrometer is a glass disk that fits in a microscope eyepiece that has a ruled scale, which is used to measure the size of magnified objects. The physical length of the marks on the scale depends on the degree of magnification. (b) Optical Slit : Optically true, precision ground stainless jaws, spring action for opening of jaws eliminated to ensure original accuracy even after prolonged use. Jaws open uniformly all along through a milled head. Jaw alignment tested for optical accuracy. (c) Bi-prism Holder: Has the fine radial motion by a fine pitch screw .
