Description Below ground hydrants are becoming harder and harder to locate. They are hidden or obstructed by top soil plants or trees or have vehicles parked over them. Fire Brigades are finding it harder to locate Fire Hydrants. When the Appliance arrives on scene they have only 2-3 minutes before they require Mains Water to continue the Fire Fight. AWIS Preform uses Thermoplastic in a triangular shape to point to the Fire Hydrant. We also supply a Blue Road Pavement Marker (RPM) (Cats Eye) to also identify the hydrant location. AWIS have been working with Water boards and Fire Departments to develop this system. The system consists of a Triangle 450mm High x 250mm Wide on the road pavement just off the gutter line . A Blue RPM to be placed in the centre of the carriageway. The Standard has adopted, White as the colour for the Hydrant Triangles but some area’s prefer Blue, and New Zealand has adopted Yellow.
